Letters from the Balkans
The Editors
This past summer, twenty-three students, eleven Palestinian and twelve Jewish, traveled to the Balkans as part of the first Vision Fellowship program run by Abraham's Vision, an NGO aimed at creating a new generation of mutually respectful American Jewish, Palestinian, and Muslim leaders. Participants were chosen explicitly from schools that are often hotbeds of controversy surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, such as University of Michigan, University of California at Berkeley, and our own Columbia. During their travels they swam across the sea to Crotia, witnessed a mass funeral in Srebrenica, and were serenaded in the heart of Belgrade.
