After Sonnet by Elizabeth Bishop

Sarah Barlow-Ochshorn

Lost -- the hands
in the every-day,
appendages unheld;
and the voice
lilting and clinging,
unsure.

Bloomed -- the heart
devotion’s organ
unbreathing crescendo;
and the pink lips
on the brink
of your angel face
insistent, true!
