On March 24th, The Current will host a pioneering academic discussion on "non-offending" pedophiles. In 2014, journalist Luke Malone authored a groundbreaking article for Matter entitled "You're 16. You're a pedophile. You don't want to hurt anyone. What do you do now?" and produced a radio piece on the same topic for This American Life called "Help Wanted." The Current will explore the psychological and mental health questions surrounding this taboo topic in a moderated academic conversation with:
Luke Malone
Journalist, Matter/This American Life

Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto
Elizabeth Letourneau
Director, Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse, Johns Hopkins
