Aliza Abusch Magder

there are days that hurt--
needlessly, senselessly,
just the world so harsh
and my heart so soft in most ways.
i pray, “god,
callus my thumping, pumping
bloody mess,
please god,
please god.”
thats all there is to say--
Incessant gnawing
can only be met by so few words.
the alacrity of the ache--
juts out of eye’s corner,
eats me up,
spits me out (torn & breathless)
“god, god please,
callus this poor heart...”...
...before they get to me,
consume me completely
i just disappear
pussy scabs of days,
bleed needlessly, senselessly--
just the world so harsh and my heart so soft
